Youth Town Hall

UNA USA SJ in collaboration with UNA USA NNJ is holding a Virtual Youth Town Hall on October 10th, 2020 from 6-8 PM EST. This event will advocate and show youth the strength in their voice and how influential they can be. Youth are strong on social media and have proven time and time again that it is a powerful weapon when wanting to influence and implement change. The aim for this town hall is to get youth in touch with youth representatives at the UN Foundation and to have them learn more about how to use their voice, how to be heard, and how to become an influential part of their communities. All youth representatives will have expertise in different SDGs so that youth can learn about many topics in these two hours.

The Town Hall will be split up into three sessions: a general session, a virtual networking break, and a closing session. In the general session, the town hall will be modeled as a regular, structured panel with a moderator asking questions to all 3 of the speakers with a Q&A at the end. What we ask the speakers will be decided by you, our audience members! For the Virtual Networking Break, speakers will be put in their own breakout rooms and audience members will be able to indicate on this form which speaker they would like to learn more about. In these breakout rooms, audience members will learn about a speaker's initiatives, how they started them, and how youth in our communities can do the same. Lastly, everyone will come together for a closing session for some closing remarks.
