In commemoration of International Day of the Girl, the UNA-USA NNJ Youth and Community Engagement Committee will be hosting a girl youth storytelling challenge to showcase personal conversations with girls in Northern New Jersey who are engaging youth by launching local initiatives that have a regional or global impact.  The aim of this storytelling challenge is to amplify the exemplary work girls in Northern NJ are doing to make their mark around Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in this world and provide them with a platform to inspire other girls. 

Contest Rules

  • Contest is open to girls ages 14-24 who reside or whose principal residence is in Northern New Jersey

  • Each submission needs to be accompanied by a video consent release form to be considered complete

  • Girl stories need to be inspired by one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.  For more information on the SDGs, please visit: https://sdgs.un.org/goals

  • Girl youth who submit their stories may be selected to be showcased as one of 10 girl stories on UNA-USA Youth website.  If selected, additional storytelling updates will be requested at different touchpoints Jan-Oct 2021.

  • Each video should not be longer than 3 minutes

  • Videos can be submitted using a youtube or vimeo link.  Videos need to be set to public to allow viewing.

  • Video must be received by 11:59pm on February 28, 2021

  2. Download Video Release Form

  3. Download Entry Form

  4. Send us an email with the Video Release Form, Entry Form and a link to your video submission to Youth@unausannj.org.
